Paul Manfre

I’ll retire 3 days after I die, 5 days if the market is hot.

With almost four decades of hands-on involvement in the produce industry, I have cultivated a rich and diverse background. It all began with humble beginnings, selling fruits and vegetables from a pushcart on the bustling streets of New York City. Since then, I have owned and operated retail stores, managed a wholesale food service business, served as a salesman in a terminal, acted as a street buyer, worked as a grower/shipper, and even ventured into the realm of importing/exporting produce.

I have also had the honor of representing growers for a variety of produce, including peppers, avocados, ataulfo mangos, and kabocha squash. Along the way, I have gained valuable insights and lessons from both successes and failures, as I have lived and shipped produce from various countries around the world. My wealth of experience has provided me with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the intricacies of the produce industry, allowing me to navigate its ever-changing landscape with skill and expertise.
